Fostering: how a temporary home saves lives

Foster homes give rescued animals space to heal and learn to trust — and free up room for the next emergency.

Every rescue organization is limited by space. A foster home — even for two weeks — means one more animal we can pull off the street.

What fostering involves

  • A safe space in your home (a spare room or bathroom is enough for kittens).
  • Feeding, cleaning and love, plus giving medicine when needed.
  • Bringing the animal to vet visits and adoption meetings.
  • Sharing photos and notes about its personality — this helps it get adopted.

What Gracivo provides

Veterinary care, guidance, and — whenever our budget allows — food and supplies. You are never alone: we are a message away.

Types of fostering

  • Bottle babies: newborn kittens who need feeding every few hours.
  • Medical recovery: animals healing after surgery.
  • Socialization: shy animals learning to trust people.
  • Short-term emergency: a few days while we find a placement.
"I'd get too attached"It is hard to say goodbye — but every animal you foster and see adopted makes room for another life to be saved.
